Chase Your Own Dream

I'm sure you've heard the expression that employees chase their boss' dream, right? When you think about it, that is so true. Employees have limited opportunities to achieve any significant financial goals. Sure, there's the annual 3% raise, the turkey at Thanksgiving, and if you're really lucky and the boss is in a good mood, there may be a Christmas bonus. Think Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation. I'm here to say that it's time to Chase Your Own Dream!

You've probably often heard that millionaires all work for themselves, not someone else. There's a reason for this. They chase their own dreams with others helping them. I challenge you to listen to your heart and imagine what it will be like when you achieve your dream of financial freedom or whatever it is you really want to happen. When you think about it, what exactly is a goal other than a clearly focused dream? It's something we visualize and take steps to achieve before it actually becomes a reality. To increase the likelihood of achieving your dream or goal, it helps to use a S.M.A.R.T. approach. Goals must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timetable-able.

As you set your goals according to these principles, you will learn to focus on exactly what you are passionate about achieving and why. Visualize your life with that achievement and you will actually feel as though it has occurred. This is very powerful. It is the difference between dreaming and creating reality. Start with the dream and then make it a goal upon which you focus with laser-like intensity. Watch what happens in your life.

Many people just daydream without really believing they can achieve their goals. If you take the time to really identify what you want, why you want it, how it will improve yours and your family's life, and set a time for its completion, you can achieve any goal your mind produces. I am living proof of that and it feels very powerful. Remember, if your mind can conceive it (dream it), you can achieve it. So get started right now on chasing your own dream. All it takes is a decision.

Captitalize on Your Subconscious

Now that you know about your subconscious mind, it's time to understand how it works. Once you understand how this part of your brain operates, you will be able to capitalize on the amazing power of your subconscious.

Unlike your conscious brain, which only knows what it receives from the five senses, your subconscious believes every thought you put into it. It is neither objective nor critical in its thinking. If you tell yourself (the same as telling your subconscious) that you are a bad driver, your subconscious believes this and will actually orchestrate events to reinforce this belief. Yikes, is that what caused the accident?

Conversely, if you tell yourself that you are a very skillful driver, events will unfold to prove this statement to be true, also. These are called affirmations. You are affirming a fact that you believe to be true, whether it has actually occurred yet or not. You may not actually believe the statement the first time you make it, but by repeating it so that it becomes recorded in your subconscious mind, you will believe it. And once you believe it, the universe will do whatever it takes to make it a reality.

In order to capitalize on this aspect of your subconscious, you must first decide on a goal you truly desire. Then tell yourself that you have the ability to achieve this goal. You don't have to know all of the details of how will happen, you just have to tell yourself that you are in the process of making it happen. Try it and see what happens.

Remember, you are capable of achieving anything you desire. I believe in you, now you need to believe in yourself. If financial goals are part of you dreams, contact me. You are not reading this blog by accident. Your subconscious mind orchestrated things so you would find it. You may already be capitalizing on your subconscious without realizing it, which is precisely how it works.
